5th and 6th Grade Teacher

“Life’s too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forgive the ones who don’t and believe that everything happens for a reason.  If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it’d be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.” –Dr. Seuss

“Be the change you wish to see in the world.”  -Mahatma Gandhi

Teacher Expectations and Student Goals:

I have high expectations for all of my students academically and socially. I want them to work hard and dream big.  I strongly believe that they can achieve any goal they set their heart and mind toward achieving. Perseverance is an important trait that I hope to instill in them that can carry
them through times of adversity, struggle, and success.  I hope they will learn as much from their mistakes in life as from their success, and it is what they do with their mistakes that makes them who they are. I expect my students to be kind, respectful, responsible, trustworthy, and hardworking citizens inside and out of the classroom.

This year, my goals are to improve student engagement and motivation, as well as, inspire a love for learning and reading. I will strive to improve my students’ writing abilities and expand on their creativity through organization, structure, evidence, and description. In math, we will learn, practice, and work towards mastery of grade level concepts of the number system, expressions and equations, geometry, statistics and probability, and proportional relationships.
